French Priest Henri Caffarel Declared Venerable
Father Henri Caffarel, the French priest best known for his work in accompanying married couples on the path to holiness, has been declared Venerable, bringing him one step closer to canonization.
Pope Leo XIV recognized the heroic virtues of the priest, who consistently taught that couples are made for happiness and that marriage is a path toward that happiness and sanctity. Born in Lyon in 1903, Caffarel founded the movement for marital spirituality known as Teams of Our Lady in Paris in 1939, leaving a lasting legacy in the life of the Church and in Catholic family spirituality.
Logo and Motto Released for Pope Leo XIV’s Visit to Spain
The Holy See Press Office has released the official logo and motto for Pope Leo XIV’s upcoming apostolic journey to Spain, scheduled for June 6 to 12.
The chosen motto, “Lift up your eyes,” is taken from the fourth chapter of the Gospel of John, where Jesus reveals Himself as the Messiah to the Samaritan woman at the well. During the trip, the Pope is expected to visit Madrid, Barcelona, and the Canary Islands, in what will be one of the major international events of his pontificate so far.
