Pope Francis Calls for Global Prayer for Peace in War-Torn Regions

Pope Francis has called for a special prayer campaign for peace in the world, with a focus on the Holy Land.

In a heartfelt appeal, Pope Francis has called for a special prayer campaign for peace in the world, with a focus on the Holy Land. Addressing the grave situations in Ukraine and the Holy Land, he urged for resolutions through dialogue and negotiation, not through violence that leads to a “mountain of dead.”

In a video message, available in multiple languages, the Pope expressed his deep concern for the ongoing conflicts, particularly in Ukraine and the Holy Land. He described the situation in the Holy Land as “very painful,” emphasizing that both the Palestinian and Israeli people have an undeniable right to live in peace.

Francis consistently denounces war and the conflicts that arise from human hearts and fear. “Understand that terrorism and war never lead to a solution. War is a defeat. Every war is a defeat!” he stated. He has been a vocal advocate for the promotion of peace, coexistence, and the common good.

The Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network has responded to Francis’s call by initiating a novena for peace, focusing on the world and specifically the Holy Land, Palestine, and Israel. This novena is accessible through the Click To Pray app and its website, where prayer texts are available for those wishing to join the Holy Father in this initiative.

In October, Francis urged believers to unite in prayer and fasting, emphasizing prayer as the “meek and holy force” against the forces of hatred, terrorism, and war. As Advent approaches, bringing hope with the birth of the Prince of Peace, Jesus, he reiterates his call for prayer.

The Click To Pray app, the official prayer app of the Pope, offers a digital community where the faithful can join in these prayers. The Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network, a Vatican foundation, facilitates this mobilization of Catholics through prayer and action in response to global challenges.
