Pontifical University organizes meetings for young people in preparation for WYD 2023

The Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome (Italy), through the Faith and Culture Center “Alberto Hurtado,” will host several lectures in preparation for the upcoming World Youth Day, which will take place from August 1st to 6th in Lisbon (Portugal).

In collaboration with the Embassy of Portugal to the Holy See, the Gregorian University will hold three meetings where several Cardinals will dialogue with various personalities. The first one will take place next Friday, March 31st, and will feature the participation of Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça, Prefect of the Dicastery for Culture and Education, who will speak on the topic “From the End of the World” with coach José Mourinho.

Later on, on April 18th, Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, General Vicar of the Holy Father for the Vatican City and Archpriest of St. Peter’s Basilica, will discuss the encyclical “Fratelli tutti” with lawyer Daniele Bruno, President of the John Paul II Foundation for Youth.

Finally, on May 9th, Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, former President of the Pontifical Council for Culture, will address the encyclical “Laudato si'” with Portuguese musician and literature professor Jorge Vaz de Carvalho.

These meetings are aimed at lay young people who want to connect their human and professional education with the intelligence of the Christian faith to prepare themselves for the challenges that arise in our society. The three meetings will take place at 5:30 pm (Rome time) in the Aula Magna of the University and can be followed live on the University’s channel.
