Pope Francis Discusses Volunteering with Missionary Group, Mision America

Pope Francis reminded the faithful that we are called to be missionaries. The Holy Father made the remarks late last week while meeting with members of the Spanish Bishops’ Conference and a group called Mision America. Pope Francis stressed that Jesus was sent by the Father and now sends us. Volunteer at Mision America, Maria De Juan Alvarez, joins to tell us more about this audience with the Pope and what the Holy Father said to her. Speaking of her organization, Alvarez is mainly focused on aid and development of countries in Latin America and Africa. She shares how Mision America works in these places. He organization is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Alvarez discusses whether she is planning anything special for this important milestone.
