The Catholic group Laudato Si’ has launched a new initiative called “An Economy of Peace” which aims to help the people of Ukraine. In a statement the organization invites Christians to place their commitment to divest from fossil fuels. The aim of this effort is to accelerate a just ecological transition and change of course to emerge better from the pandemic and war. Divestment Campaigner from the Laudato Si Movement, Joseph D’Halluin, joins to tell us a little more about this call for fossil fuels divestment and what the Catholic perspective he wants to stress is for this specific topic. D’Halliun shares how he is also trying to work in support of the situation in Ukraine. He discusses the main initiatives on the Laudato Si’ agenda for 2023.
