Pope Francis Appoints Religious Under-secretary of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Holy See

Pope Francis has appointed the new under-secretary of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See (APSA) Sister Silvana Piro, until now bursar general of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Child Jesus (FMGB).

APSA’s mission is to administer the assets that are property of the Holy See, intended to provide the funds necessary to fulfill the functions of the Roman Curia.

Sister Silvana Piro was born on November 6, 1972, in the town of Torre del Greco, in the province of Naples (Italy). She is 50 years old.

After completing her studies in business administration at the University of Pisa, she obtained a postgraduate degree in innovation management at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa.

In 2008, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in theology at the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome. On December 7, 2009, she gave her perpetual vows in the Congregation of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Child Jesus.

Between 2008 and 2012, she collaborated with the youth ministry of the Archdiocese of Perugia-Città della Pieve. Since 2012, she has served as bursar general of her religious institute.
