Pope Francis Praises the Role of Women in the Church on Women’s Day

Pope Francis praised the role of women in the Church as part of his remarks on International Women’s Day. Vatican officials and others reflected on the important role played by women in the Church. It was part of a conference preparing for a gathering next year called “Women in the Church: Builders of Humanity.” Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies on Women of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, Anita Cadavid, joins to tell us more about this conference. The conference is in preparation for the gathering next year. Cadavid shares more about this upcoming 2024 meeting and what it will focus on. During the last few years, Pope Francis has placed more women in prominent roles in the Vatican. Cadavid discusses what she thinks about this and how the role of women is changing within the Church.
