The Extreme Way of the Cross began in 2009 in Krakow, Poland and now has 100,000 participants in 20 countries worldwide. The stations of the cross can be done alone or in small groups, with a rule of silence to better reflect on the contemplations. Each person prepares their own wooden cross, and the journey can cover at least 40 kilometers or more than 100 kilometers. The Extreme Way of the Cross challenges participants to discover their limits in order to meet God, who is an infinite God. Despite the pandemic, pilgrims continue to gather for this tradition.
