The 100th anniversary of the birth of our foundress, Mother Angelica.

Today is a special day at EWTN. It is the 100th anniversary of the birth of our foundress, Mother Angelica. This afternoon, the EWTN Vatican bureau organized a Mass in Mother’s honor. It was celebrated by the Bishop of Birmingham, Alabama. Rita Rizzo was born on April 20, 1923 in Canton, Ohio. She founded EWTN in 1981. Today it reaches more than 268 million homes in nearly 150 countries and territories. President and COO of EWTN News, Montse Alvarado, joins to tell us more about this celebration and how Mother Angelica was remembered during the Mass. Alvarado discusses how as EWTN News president the figure of Mother Angelica inspires her in her work and mission. Alvarado has spent the last few days in Rome. She shares more on meeting with the Vatican bureau team.
