A global group of religious sisters say they are grateful to Pope Francis for his recent announcement that women will have a vote in the upcoming Synod of Bishops. The International Union of Superiors General says it welcomed the decision with “great joy and gratitude,” adding that the Holy Father’s announcement is a sign the Church’s tent is growing and greater dialogue is likely to follow. President of the International Union of Superiors General, Sister Nadia Coppa, joins to share her reaction when she heard women will have a vote in the Synod and what she thinks it means for the Church. Sr. Nadia tells us in what ways her group is preparing for the upcoming Synod. Sr. Nadia was elected one year ago as the new president of the IUSG. She explains more about this past year and what the main issues she has focused on are.
