Next Thursday, Pope Francis’ Encyclical, “Dilexit nos,” which explores the human and divine love of the Heart of Jesus Christ, will be presented at the Holy See Press Office. The presentation will be led by Monsignor Bruno Forte, Metropolitan Archbishop of Chieti-Vasto, and Sister Antonella Fraccaro, General Head of the Disciples of the Gospel.

A Message of Hope and Renewal

Last June 5, during a general audience, Pope Francis anticipated his intention to draft a document that would gather “the precious reflections of previous magisterial texts and of a long history going back to the Sacred Scriptures, in order to re-propose today, to the whole Church” the worship of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, “charged with spiritual beauty.”

Pope Francis had added, “I believe it will do us much good to meditate on various aspects of the Lord’s love that can illuminate the path of ecclesial renewal; but also that say something meaningful to a world that seems to have lost its heart. I ask you to accompany me prayerfully, in this time of preparation, with the intention of making this document public next September.”

The new encyclical aims to be a beacon of hope and spirituality, addressing not only the Catholic Church but also the entire world, which seems to be in desperate need of rediscovering the true meaning of love.
