Vaticano: Pope Leo, Mary, and the New Encyclical

Pope Leo XIV has released his first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, focused on human dignity in the age of artificial intelligence. The Vatican has also launched a new commission on AI as the Holy Father calls young Catholics to persevere in the faith and highlights the central role of the sacred liturgy in the life of the Church.

As the Church continues to celebrate the month of May, Pope Leo XIV renewed devotion to the Rosary during a pilgrimage to Pompeii, encouraging Catholics everywhere to rediscover this “ancient and beautiful devotion” through the example of St. Bartolo Longo and the Dominican tradition.

A special feature on the Marian devotion of the last four popes explores how St. John Paul II, Benedict XVI, Pope Francis, and Pope Leo XIV have each entrusted their pontificates to the maternal care of the Virgin Mary through prayer, pilgrimage, and personal devotion.

At Rome’s Pontifical Theological Faculty Marianum, leading Mariologists reflect on why Mary remains central to the life of the Church as Mother of the Church, Queen of Peace, and the disciple who always leads the faithful closer to Christ.

From hidden alleyways to bustling piazzas, Rome’s centuries-old Marian street shrines — the beloved “Madonnelle” — continue to serve as enduring signs of faith, protection, and popular devotion throughout the Eternal City.

Thank you for your continued support, and always remember: God has a plan for each of us, and He makes no mistakes.
