Tor Vergata is a modern pilgrimage site on the outskirts of Rome. It was the location where Pope St. John Paul II celebrated World Youth Day during the Great Jubilee in 2000. For this Jubilee of Youth, it will once again serve as the final destination of the pilgrimage, where pilgrims will gather for a vigil and Mass with the Pope.

How to Get There

When traveling to Tor Vergata for the Jubilee of Youth on August 2–3, 2025, the use of public transport and designated walking routes is highly recommended, as parking near the event area with private vehicles is not allowed.

You can reach Tor Vergata by taking Metro A to Anagnina, or Metro C to either Giardinetti or Grotte Celoni, followed by a walk of approximately 5 km. Regional train lines FL4 and FL6 stop at Ciampino station, from where it’s about a 7.5 km walk to the event site.

If you choose to travel by taxi, recommended apps in Rome include IT Taxi, FreeNow, and Uber. For purchasing bus and metro tickets, the Mooney Go app is a good option.
