A blessed start to Advent to you and yours as we prepare for the coming of Christ at Christmas! Things are busy in the Vatican with Advent in Rome.

As we prepare for the Jubilee Year, Pope Francis has recognized a miracle attributed to Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, paving the way for his canonization alongside Blessed Carlo Acutis, inspiring us with their extraordinary holiness and relatable lives.

Starting this week, Chinese becomes the ninth official language at the Pope’s weekly General Audiences, underscoring the Church’s commitment to embrace linguistic and cultural diversity.

Next year, Pope Francis will mark the 1,700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea with a pilgrimage to Turkey, celebrating this cornerstone of Christian unity between East and West.

The Vatican is considering defining “spiritual abuse” as a formal crime, strengthening protections for the vulnerable. On Vaticano, we address the topic of safeguarding in the Church.

After 40 years of mystery, the Vatican’s chief prosecutor confirmed the existence of a confidential file on Emanuela Orlandi. This revelation offers renewed hope for further answers in the case of the “Vatican Girl.”

Further on Vaticano, we also see how the Vatican is combating loneliness in Western Society and the healthy emergency of antimicrobial resistance. With the upcoming consistory we travel to Gammarelli’s, the tailors of the Popes.
